* denialism

They are not being skeptical. They are choosing to state beliefs in things they know are false or defy facts as a means to feel powerful. Their followers believe in a similar power structure and feel powerful by association. Fundamental to those practicing ‘denialism’ is the belief that being willful is being powerful as in the will to stand up to authority is powerful. In that belief of power what is more powerful than to deny facts or the truth. This is why they lie when no lie is needed or when you present facts that refute their position their followers feel more powerful.

That’s exactly what they’ll say about you though. It’s hard to argue.

Facts are facts determine which facts they accept and which facts they don’t accept. It is a waste of effort to confront on facts they don’t accept. Work the fringes. For example with the big lie discuss people fairly elected from that election.
