black widow was too specific to be in group of arachnids.
Cribs triggered mtv, but i only knew jackass as the other certainty for that. Catfish is a bony fish, while shark isn’t, but it is also a pop culture verb, so could be a mtv show. I wasn’t sure if there was a comic book character jackass, but couldn’t make 4 mtv without it.
Once again I didn’t post my answers before NYT lost them (why is this only a problem with this one game?) but I was all over the place and had 4 misses with no categories solved.

Perhaps without Digits, they turned up the Connections difficulty level.
Digits never worked for me at all. I gave up on that game.
But Connections is getting more difficult. Are they running out of ideas already?

I cycled through all the combinations of 4 fish until i got it. If it hadn’t said, “you already guessed that”, i would have lost. I didn’t recognize any of the MTV shows and had zero chance of making that connection.
Same as twig.

Puzzle #58
I knew two of the MTV shows, but never heard of the other two. I kept wanting to use TICK as a superhero, but then I decided that might be too much of a stretch for them, and it finally started falling in place.
It did not work for me either because of my cookie settings
Oh, I wonder if that’s my problem too.
