Only in Canada would the leaders’ debate be rescheduled to avoid conflicting with a hockey game!
To be fair, Canadian tuition is cheap compared to being shoved into a van by masked gunmen and deported a to random country.
Thanks Chuck. Maybe also put in a good word for Canada when Donald visits you.
Regarding some art that has popped up in Toronto:
Brilliant, sometimes humorous, but chilling.
Time magazine asked him in an interview: Maybe you’re trolling a bit when talking about Canada as 51st state.
“Actually, no, I’m not,” he told Time in an interview conducted Tuesday, and published Friday.
“I’m really not trolling. Canada is an interesting case.… I say the only way this thing really works is for Canada to become a state.”

I was at a conference this week and an American presenter laughed off Trump’s 51st state rhetoric as trolling. The Canadian audience was not amused as we have taken this seriously all along even if Americans haven’t.
How could you take it seriously when the only way this would be suicide for Republicans and the Democrats don’t want it?
The president keeps taking it seriously is the thing…
Try to put yourselves in the shoes of a people being threatened by a country with an economy ten times larger.
Canada would be given the status of a territory rather than a state so Republicans could take our natural resources with no accompanying political power. And Democrats are irrelevant these days.
doesn’t Puerto Rico keep getting to choose if they want to be a state or not? I imagine Canada would be able to also, in which case, you guys could vote to be a state, then put the Democrats in power, then the Democrats will make this all go poof.
How much power does PR have? Or Guam?
Canada is several multiples the size of each. As a state you’d get way more representatives
edit: okay apparently Congress would still have to approve a new state, so I guess you can continue to be afraid of becoming a territory, but that’s not what Trump said you’d be. But then again he does keep changing other stuff he says.
Well, he’s making a convincing pretense of it at the very least. But this is one of those things that’s a bit more unrealistic. Just like he wanted Mike Pence to refuse to certify he lost.
Trump keeps on saying stupid shit, we’re told he’d never do it, then he goes and does it.
Let’s make book. Whats line on the following proposition?
Canada and China have agreed upon a reciprocal tariff of 25%. To cement the arrangement, BYD, is announcing construction of a EV auto plant in Ontario.
5:1. To open?
Background…it was Aug 2024 when the US, Canada, and the EU imposed 100% tariffs on ev autos out of China. What a difference a day makes, eh?
Puerto Rico occasionally has referendums, but ultimately it would take an act of Congress and a Presidential signature to change its status. Admission as a state isn’t going to happen if one party is expected to benefit over the other.
I don’t get your point here. He actually tried getting Mike Pence to overthrow the election results. That Pence stood up to Trump doesn’t negate the fact that Trump tried to overturn an election in order to stay in power. It’s totally realistic that Trump will try to overturn elections results he doesn’t like. He’s already done it once and wasn’t punished for it.
He not only wasn’t punished…he avoided punishment by getting elected.
