Canada <> US

Canada would warmly embrace the US again if it had reasonable leadership. However Canada will never again rely on the US to buy 85% of its exports nor import US goods at its former levels. Carney is developing alternative trading partners and his success will be measured by how much that happens. Getting US exports down to 50% of total exports in the next five years would be a huge mitigation of trade risk. However, it may take longer as much new infrastructure is needed to get our products to new markets.

He’s already apparently knocked out some inter provincial trade barriers. I’m curious how much of a difference that makes. I haven’t seen any metrics yet. Alcohol was the big one.

Stumbled across your necro post. We have one of those two dollar bills somewhere packed away in the basement, with my spouses phone number on it. That’s what I got the night we met.

Trump reminds me of the 6 year olds at our daughters school who throw a fit when they don’t get what they want.

None of the other G7 countries have signed up yet so hopefully they won’t accept their invitations.

Nice to see that Ryan Wedding has been captured. Surprised there was no mention of the RCMP’s role in his capture. But Kash Patel does like to take 100% credit.

Mexico IS sending us murderers and drug dealers - except they’re US citizens.

Makes it seem like they made him “enemy number 1” because they knew they were close to getting him because his cartel support was fading.

Why, oh why, couldn’t the perpetrator be named Terrence or Phillip?

Mounties always get their man, eh?

Just waiting for our flight home from Tulum Airport. The departure board showed six flights to Canada and three to the US so supports my impression that there are more Canadians than Americans here.

Have never seen snow this deep in Toronto (my BIL’s back deck today).

That looks like a lot, but its measured in cm.

Lots of stuff in Toronto is gonna be shut down tomorrow.

We got 16-20 inches today.

Toronto got about 2.54 times that amount.

Approx 1 hour west of Toronto, we got maybe an inch overnight. I was expecting a snowmaggedon.
