Canada <> US

geesh i would use some of those spellings myself

I use both s and z spellings in Scrabble; where it matters.

Between all the time I’ve spent living in the US, Australia and Canada, I haven’t got a clue what the right spelling is for a lot of words.

Because of the way my company’s IT handles cross-border workers, I have computers or virtual machines in the US, Canada, and the UK. Until I got sufficiently annoyed to do something about it, autocorrect in Word/Outlook doing different things on different machines kept freaking me out.

My job title even varies (“Modelling” vs “Modeling”) depending on the audience.

You could change it to Modelo.

This needs to be pointed out to Trump as he continues to impose tariffs on Canada for the flood (trickle?) of fentanyl flowing from Canada to the US.

A tale of two countries.

Foreign visitors to the US continue to decline whereas foreign visitors to Canada increase, including an increase in US visitors.

American visits north up for first time in eight months as Canadians still avoid U.S. .

Had no idea these things existed in Canada.

Looks more like a student room.

Canada bumped further down the US state list?

“Hours after the U.S. invaded Venezuela to seize President Nicolás Maduro, President Trump sent a warning to the governments of Mexico, Cuba and Colombia that their countries could be next.”

Canada might be slipping into the 60s here before the end of 2026.

Cuba seems to be on the rise.

Rubio really hates Cuba so I would imagine that is on the menu as well. Only issue is Cuba has nothing to offer the US (as it has no natural resources), so Trump is unlikely to be interested.

Cuba would have been invaded decades ago if it had had oil. Sugar cane and cigars aren’t enough reason

Nice place for a Trump resort, though.

Trump failed at his resorts in Toronto and Vancouver so probably won’t try again here. Cuba is a better bet. The former Trump hotel in Vancouver is now called the Paradox Hotel.

Interestingly, Trump’s grandfather operated a brothel in the Yukon in the old days. Probably the Trump family’s most successful Canadian investment.

So do I.

Greenland’s native population has common ancestry with some of Nunavut’ native population. Our Governor-General is an Inuk and would probably attend the opening of the consulate in Greenland. If Greenland wanted to join another country, Canada would be a better cultural fit than the USA. In any event, I am happy to see us with closer ties to them.

Reading between the lines, it appears that Hoekstra’s threats to Canada to end pre-clearance ended after his superiors told him that pre-clearance was actually in US interests. Hoekstra needs replacing.

That guy is a serial failure at Diplomacy.

Baffles me that they keep selecting him even if its politically motivated.
