A) 2 diamonds. Willing to take another call over 2H or 2S, so will go this way.
B) 3 diamonds. Not sure I will able to find out what I need, and may need to eventually just jump to 6 spades, but this feels most likely to be able to get info out.
C) 3 spades. I think with hand types that would make 3NT opposite this, partner would have doubled. This shows more shape to me.
D) 4 diamonds. Will play either 4NT (if partner bids it) or 6D (if partner does not bid 4NT). Considered 3NT instead, could be convinced that is better.
E) 3 diamonds. Yuck.
F) 2 diamonds. This is why when you agree to 4sf, you should always discuss what the default bid is…
G) 2 spades. Partner might have doubled with some 45s? Thought about 3d or 3h as well.
H) diamond 8, with no conviction.

Just documenting my current thoughts, in case it attracts any more votes or comments.
From NN, by e-mail, just commenting on the ones in doubt:
C: 4H. I think that with 5-4, partner would double instead of bidding 3H.
D: 6D. 2NT should show 17-20. I think I have enough for this.
F: 2D. No third heart, no club stopper, so I default to the cheap 2D.
Hence, expecting to submit 4H on C, 6D on D and 2D on F, unless influenced by 4Sigma or some other comments.
On F., we’re in a game force, presumably trying to get to 3N on these cards, with clubs being the problematic suit. I can’t bid 2N because I don’t have clubs stopped, and diamond, heart and spade bids distort the hand. 3C therefore is the only logical bid showing doubt about a club stopper (because if I had one, I’d bid Nt). This will right- side the contract if my p has a soft club stopper.

I’ve left my bid in the table for D as 6N, since I almost always score myself on first choices. And 6N would still be my first choice, but with no one else supporting it I’ll consider my vote as having moved to 6D. That still, with AA’s moved vote, leaves a 3-3 tie, and then I’ll submit our choice as 6D (fingers crossed).

Unfortunate choice on all three what were up in the air. On D, the top three choices all got 6 panelist votes.
Congratulations to ST, back after a long absence, whose 660 would have tied for 43-51 on the monthly honor roll, and AA, whose 650 would have tied for 52-59, the lowest score to make the roll.
That’s the top 29 from the Honor Roll. We are 7th, up from 9th in 2023. Only 10 out of 6th, 20 out of 5th, 30 out of 4th, then gaps get MUCH larger. The whole honor roll, available at BridgeWorld.com is 106 names.
I have heard nothing further, but we are guest panelists for 3 months in 2025 based on the 2023 finish, so we likely will get another appearance in 2026. Minor downside: we cannot change our votes for those months, but on the bright side I won’t need to nag anyone to get answers in.
