A) 2NT. I like to play that with a 3514 min, pd would have raised immediately, so if pd has 3 spades, should not be passing 2NT.
B) 2NT. Slightly tempted by 3H with so much in hearts and clubs, but will take a more standard call. If partner retreats to 3C, may break discipline and bid 4H (picture xx KQJxx x AJxxx).
C) 5C
D) 5D, but I have learned I expect more from a 2 level negative double than perhaps is standard. Don’t plan on playing in a strain other than diamonds, and don’t expect partner to pass given my club holding, so doubling seems to just make the auction more murky.
E) Pass. The colors made me do it.
F) Double.
G) 3 clubs. Looks like a six card suit.
H) Spade 6. Think I have been playing with the bots too much.
On E will go with Dbl. Sticking with my decisions on everything else.
Umm I’m also been convinced by 5D on D.
A) Toughest choice. I’m going to slightly overbid with 2D, despite the probable misfit, because of my good spots and shape.
B) 2NT. Value bid.
C) 5C. I can’t cuebid without a heart control. And Double shows two places to play, which I don’t have.
D) Dbl. The next bid will be harder.
E) Pass. A gamble that we can get 200 or 300 versus no game. We can’t really expect partner to have a reopening double.
F) 4NT. But 4C if 4NT is natural. (no mention in BWS)
G) 3D. 4SF. wtp?
H) H6. Sounds like an auction for passivity.
A. 2D. Slight overbid, but most likely to reach proper denomination
B. 2N. :duh:
C. 5C
D. 5D. Partner surely short in clubs. Hopefully we can ruff at least 2.
E. 2N. Reasonably descriptive.
F. 3H. 4H would be too much
G. 3C
H. H6. Per BWS “Spot-card leads: fourth-highest; second-highest (but highest of equals) from a weak suit”

When I went to fill this out today, I had already entered a row for my choices, which included 2N for A and H9 for the lead (no changes to the other 6). With those, we would have a different leader on A and a leader on H. A is very close, and the heart 9 might be better on H, but partner is more likely than declarer to be able to read the heart position.

I had to break ties on D&E. E was “cleaner” since I wasn’t part of either group, thus my action then put P ahead 4-3. Hoping I chose wisely on them.

Not a good month. Even our best score, NN’s 690, was 20 short of honor roll level.
Nov guesses:
A 2N. If she isn’t a stopper, the HQ isn’t doing much good in any contract, so may as well hope.
B 3N. Matchpoints made me do it. Sorry we missed 6C, partner.
C 3D. Once I have bid NT, my new suit bids aren’t supposed to be natural. I should tell partner I have a max with a diamond control and support.
D 3D. I can always RKC this next round. Meanwhile, we may find out something useful by being cooperative. I want this to play in diamonds to protect partner’s spade holding from the lead and because we have lots of discards coming if diamonds are trump.
E 4D. If partner has a max, I want to be in game. Happy for that game to be 4H if that’s partner’s next bid. My hearts are not good enough to suggest it on my own.
F 2H I’m allowed to have a maximum. I also don’t want LHO getting in a cheap diamond rebid.
G Dbl. I will correct diamonds to hearts. Even if you haven’t agreed that this is what that shows, when they preempt, this is what that shows. Sure, I’d like to bid 4C, but my hand isn’t good enough.
H SA. I normally hate laying down an ace on opening lead. RHO’s bidding makes it sound like there’s a secret. If that secret is running clubs, I seriously need to be on lead next trick having seen partner’s signal.

Leading 3N 2H
Three voters so far. Tentative leaders on only two, since a tentative leader would require 3, thus unanimity. Must submit by Sept 30
Sorry I’m so late this month …
A) 2N (thought about pass …)
B) 3N
C) 3N
D) 3D
E) 3H
F) 2H
G) Dbl
H) Spade Ace
A) 2NT. A stopper as strong as the confidence with which you bid nt.
B) 3 spades. At least I will have Kokish on my side
C) 5 clubs. King of spades is gold, have to bid on. Having trouble coming up with hands where 3NT is better.
D) 4NT. I can hear one of my partner’s now saying “you could not find a bid between 2D and 4NT?”, but seems like this is the surest information to get us what we want to know. Glad it is IMPs, so I can commit to diamonds.
E) 3H. Could be convinced 3NT is better
F) 2 hearts. Seems obvious, often a sign I am missing something. Will bid 3C next if 2S comes back to me
G) 3 spades. Anything could be right.
H) 4 of clubs. Being playing with the robots too much
A. 2NT. Since we’re not vulnerable.
B. 3NT. Seems obvious. What am I missing?
C. 3NT. Same.
D. 4C. Considered 4NT as well, but felt like this gives a little more possibility to optimize.
E. 3H. Considered 3NT.
F. 2H. Seems like it might be a little too weak of a bid, but I like it better than double showing “heart tolerance”. We certainly have more than heart tolerance.
G. Double. Is there a Michael’s that shows the majors? 3NT or 4C? But perhaps that is too strong here.
H. SA. Considered the C7 as well. That’s almost certainly what I would lead with the bots.

Seems like we got a raw deal on our 0 on C. 3NT was chosen by 33% of solvers, so it must have some merit. No panelist chose it, else it would have to get at least 10.
VVV’s 750 and ST’s 740 were honor-roll level (needed 740)
I can’t post a screenshot yet, but you could see the December problems at The Bridge World
