Please take a picture of the whole cabinet.
I broke GoA again!
Pleas don’t post those pictures on a Friday.
It’s Saturday somewhere
If you are a Costco member, the Sazerac Rye is a killer deal at $23.
they did NOT have the blantons at $55 a bottle. It was $190 - $310. COuld have gotten one of each label for a total of $1K. Not my thing. Eagle Rare was only like $60 but I didn’t get it. Buffalo Trace was $40 for liter.
as for your cabinet, the girls size 5 amid your cabinet make you seem like a borderline serial killer
You can buy your own single barrel now:
I have some friends that do this with a barrel of Napa cab, but haven’t heard of this with whiskey before.
That single barrel, bourbon or wine, would have to be pretty special, unless barrels are not all that distinct (probably wouldn’t be for my taste buds).
I prefer my bourbon to come from (counting from my Booker notes…) six different barrels.
Single barrels can have a lot of taste variance for bourbon. As an individual purchaser, I’d expect to be last in line after the maker itself and various high volume stores get their picks. I’ve had some very nice single barrel bourbons, but I would think as an individual purchaser the odds would be somewhat stacked against you.
As for the wine, I don’t know that they are actually bottling from a single barrel. I imagine you are just committing to a barrel’s worth of product rather than a specific barrel.
Both are really vanity purchases in the end.
Agreed.
My favorite vintner blends wines (Pinots and Chardonnay, mainly) in several different types of barrels. Mix of old and neutral, some stainless steel or concrete eggs (could be a giant Weber). Purchasing wine made in a single barrel seems pretty dumb, but maybe not so for bourbon. Just call it what it is, purchasing 300 bottles of a single wine that an expert has created as best as they could with the available means.
Local store i was in looking for holiday beers had bith shenks and bombergers. So i got one of each. They will join the crowded shelf
