I thought this was an interesting read on AI capital expenses.

yeah I believe it all. ai hardware and hosting is obscene. and the old hardware doesn’t work even a little bit.

In years past I could’ve set up a killer hosting environment for 5-10k. nowadays for lots of AI stuff, hardware buy in is 50-100k and that’s bare minimum, not robust or even necessarily sufficient.

Interesting read.

I wonder where they are getting the money. Maybe Google and Meta have cash flow to cover some of it? Otherwise it is borrowing and selling new shares of stock. I haven’t read anything about either.

AI affecting entry level jobs already.

Entry level software developers really getting hammered.

AI is costing folks jobs in other ways.

Easiest way out is if she just fessed up

Nah, go all in. Force chatgpt to invent some math sounding bs to back up it’s hallucination.

Really, that just want an R based on a text survey. No problem imo. I can get you any R you want.

I’m building out whitepapers, marketing plans, and a website right now and I’m using AI as much as I can. It’s saving me days and days of work, and likely picking up some good pointers that I might’ve missed.

Basically I just give it as much detail and specifics as I can, often a paragraph or two, and let it run. Then I take the output after 5-10 followup prompts, and review it manually to tweak it for final production.

The website stuff was hugely helpful. I mean, I know all of the points, the cards to use, all that stuff. But having it just summarized like ‘have a set of cards, four across, with these four pain points’ and the wording to use, that’s hours right there, and still would leave some uncertainty.
