Hence the need for the fire extinguisher.

Reminds me of back in the day when I sent out a very large fax about six times because it kept failing and then getting an angry phone call “wth did you send this very large fax to us six times?!?!?!!!
”
To get an address on a driver’s license, one has to provide proof of residency at that address. Pay stub, utility bill, etc.
Once you have a driver’s license, that’s sufficient to provide proof of residency - yes? No, apparently not for some places. Bonus kid M is trying to get registered for summer school, neither a driver’s license or the address on file at their primary school counts as “proof of residency.”
Wtf?
But somehow an electronic statement , that I can easily manipulate, from my credit card company is perfectly cromulent.
I can kind of see a point. You get a driver’s license and, although you’re supposed to let them know of address changes, they don’t actually check up on your address for another 4 years, when your license expires. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to me that they would want something more recent. Yeah, you could fake a doc, but they’ll still potentially be filtering out most who wouldn’t bother with the forgery.
In this case, the driver’s license is from August 2023.
What are they even requiring? A utility bill in the child’s name?
My HVAC company came by today just to do a six-month checkup on what they installed. The guy they sent isn’t familiar with the newfangled heat pumps. So what should have been a 30-45 minute visit turned into over an hour and a half while he kept resetting things over and over again. At one point he started flipping breakers and managed to shut off power to my wife’s office.
Both the dog and I were annoyed last night when I gave her a bath. Now I’m annoyed that she’s shedding like crazy and she’s annoyed I want her to be clean for a day before playing fetch with her in the dirt.
The hunting/fishing rules here are complex and change often. Hard to keep up.
I got stopped twice by the ministry guys this weekend. And I learned that now when. My boat is pulled out of the water, I have to pull the bilge plug, or it’s a fine. It’s a new rule to stop the spread of invasive species.
I always pull the plug anyway, no idea why just what I was taught. So, no ticket for me (they would have just issued a warning anyway).
So it has the wrong address on it then, no?
factory reset on my work iphone. so now all the ringers and notifications are loud. and i lost my photos and contacts bc the apple account i am connected to that got the 6 digit validation code…isn’t around and I couldn’t get it. the stuff is in the cloud at least.
Getting a new insurance policy for a vehicle at a company where I already have a policy for other vehicles that must be insured separately. Every part of the exchange has been this painful:
“I’d like this to be a paid in full policy, and additionally please quote it 7 days in the future to take advantage of your Advance Quote Discount. Also, please provide that Personal Umbrella quote I asked about when you are able.”
“Okay, it will bill you for the full term, here is the new quote”
“This still doesn’t have Advance Quote applied. You need to quote it 7 days in the future. Looking forward to receiving that PL Umbrella quote”
“[Insurer] doesn’t offer an advance quote discount.”
“Oh, odd. I have it on my other policy with [insurer], and I’ve attached the page from their rate filing where it was implemented in my state. I don’t see any reason it shouldn’t apply. Can you advise why it’s not available on the second policy? Also, can I please get the Umbrella quote?”
Been waiting 2 days on a reply to that last email and considering switching everything to a new company. Been waiting 6 days total on my Umbrella quote from the first ask.
I have the kids for the weekend, and got a text this morning saying that my youngest just had her zelda / nintendo privileges taken away. Great, give the kid a punishment that will piss them off then let the other parent enforce it.
Suspended sentence - to be served after the weekend?
Time to buy her a new game.
Is the punishment reasonable for whatever the kid did?
Enforcing each other’s punishments helps provide some consistency for the kids, which is good.
There was only one time when my mother refused to enforce a punishment because she didn’t think I’d done anything wrong. (And with 34 years of hindsight… she was right. I hadn’t done anything wrong.)
But the rest of the time getting grounded by Mom meant that I was also grounded at Dad’s house and vice versa. And quite frankly, even though I hated it, was the correct call by my parents.
The time Mom refused to enforce Dad’s punishment I was able to manipulate when I was where so as to not miss the most important social goings-on by being at Mom’s those days. I was grounded at Dad’s when there was nothing too much going on. So her decision completely defanged the punishment.
Need more info before deciding. Did the other parent hand out a punishment, or did the kid do something they knew would earn them that punishment?
