Annoyed Thoughts

Good, hope it works.

I have a completely unfounded theory that my daily dose of Valtrex for cold sores kept me from getting shingles badly. It was very very mild for me.

I’m even sicker today. Woke up 100% congested and a headache. No time for a pity party, I’ve got the honey-do list to get at today.

First step, figure out why the dryer is making noise. Probably something rattling around, maybe needs a good vacuum. Get it dismantled, have a look, and yeah I’m not fixing that. There’s parts coming off. Off to homedepot for a new one.
I guess the good news is that it’s a nice day, I’ll grab a coffee and go for a drive. And my nephew is a gas guy so it won’t cost me anything to hook it up.

My sinuses are very pressurized and I have lost my senses of smell and taste.

But I’m craving a bacon egg and cheese bagel from McDonalds? That I wouldn’t even be able to taste? Weird.

Add a big dose of Tabasco or wasabi to your bagel sandwich. That’ll clear up your sinuses and make your sandwich tastier.

Finally got my last tax form in, so filed this morning. Federal, rejected, state, rejected.

Go back to Turbotax and the issue is something with my energy tax credit form, and it will be fixed on March 6.

Good luck. My federal was accepted no problems, Feb 23 or thereabouts, even though we had the Energy Tax Credit form. A different part of the form, maybe. State filed by mail.

I suppose I could go back and look at what entered into the form. The new requirement was to list a manufacturer code - I don’t recall this on the form last year (replace one HVAC in 24 and one in 25). TT didn’t like my initial code, but it seemed to accept the second one. Just using what google could tell me for what I purchased, so maybe I need to take another look at it.

I went with my son to his first GI follow up after his celiac diagnosis. He saw a different doctor in the practice, since the original one said he could see any of them. The doctor yesterday looked at like “why are you here”, and basically told my son to avoid any restaurant that wasn’t 100% gluten free. Geez, he’s 19.

Thats hard. Restaurants claim to have gf stuff but do a varied job at adhering to it.

My wife and i scale back to a select few that seem to treat it as seriously as she needs.

As a young person that woukd be hard to manage without vigilence that…not all young people possess

That’s tough.

My son and one of my SILs are celiac but fortunately can order g-f stuff from regular restaurants.

Honestly, he’s at cross contact risk at home, too, as we’re not a gluten free household. We’re careful, but certainly could be more vigilant.

I was annoyed with the doctor’s “I don’t trust restaurants” and should avoid them comment. Other drivers are less than trustworthy, but presumably she still gets behind the wheel. There’s many avenues of risk in life. Telling anyone, much less a young adult, that restaurants should essentially be off limits is not helpful.

The original GI doc told him he had to keep a strictly gluten free diet, but also said there’d be times when he’d have to choose between eating nothing or something less than ideal, and he’d just have to do his best, deal with the potential consequences, and move on.

He looks for items marked gluten free (or I’ll call to ask ahead of time) and tells the server he has celiac disease, but he doesn’t grill them on food safety practices. I get that safety protocols are going to vary. It just sucks.

"It’s a TurboTax glitch. If you check the PDF/printed version, you’ll probably noticed that whether or not you clicked the radio button for YES or NO on the Enabling Property, TurboTax does not check YES or NO on your actual return for that selection. The IRS rejected it from that. "

Insurance company gave someone an unfavourable decision that they found offensive. I got a tongue lashing as a result.
Took him to another company. They’ve come back with another unfavourable decision. The only task left in my calendar today is calling them to let them know.
Le sigh.

added, i just bit the bullet and called. With these things I find it best to just get it over with, be brisk and stick to the facts. End result, I got told that I’ve been great.

Stoopd teeny tiny screws in one of my kitchen chairs aren’t holding the seat! Gotta get some longer screws or mebbe get some small dowels and glue to hold the ******in’ screws!!! :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

I’m thinking there might be a temporary fix. Try to think of something small and squishy and sticky that you can use to tack them down until you can get longer screws.

I’m handwashing a big chef’s knife thinking I am being oh so careful: nope, still managed to give myself a small cut on my middle finger. Wah. :face_with_head_bandage:

Longer and/or larger screws would help, you might also try filling the hole with wood glue and a few toothpicks so you get more bite.
