Hah! Little did I know. No idea what happened, but it did not get to Philadelphia last night. I called about 9 AM (Phila time) this morning. Not sure where it was then, but I was told it would be on the flight leaving Denver 10:19 AM (Denver time) arriving 3:59 PM (Phila time). Maybe it would be delivered today; maybe not. Philadelphia would call me to arrange delivery. No call by 5:30 PM (Phila time). I called to check again. It did arrive. Out on truck for delivery by 2:30 AM tomorrow.
Delivered at 9:30 PM. All appears to be in order.
My manager is a total spaz. We have to present numbers to the CFO at 1:30 today, cool. We are projecting revenue, it’s about $900M total. And I’ve been stressing for a long time that we (the actuaries) need to have a cutoff, if we get new data the day before we present then we can speak to it but not incorporate it. We can’t keep doing manual adjustments with no time for QA.
And it just keeps getting worse. We got data at 3:00 Friday, they wanted that included. Today my manager asked me to tweak something, and then 20 minutes later she said no, don’t do that.
We keep talking about an IPO, I don’t think this is how public companies with almost $1B in revenue operate, folks.
Gonna need a root canal. ![]()
Consult was today. I thought his PCP had sent over my son’s pertinent records, but no. Given the physical exam and history, it didn’t change the doctor’s plan to recommend an upper endoscopy. It wasn’t until today’s appointment that my son realized that celiac disease is a lifelong condition, with the only treatment being elimination of gluten in his diet. He will definitely be annoyed if that is the case.
And not just annoyed short term. Its easier than it was decades ago. But still annoying
A three poop dog walk. The third one is never fun to pick up.
like the first two are each a celebration?
Fell asleep last night shortly after 9 and slept for almost 10 hours, but still very tired today. Insomnia is getting the better of me, though, so I just took a CBD gummy to help calm my thoughts. I hope it works.
I have misplaced my sunglasses yet again.

I keep a pair of sunglasses in both cars (with an extra pair in my car), office, kitchen counter, and entry table at home.
Not quite as many as you since my sunglasses are prescription and $600 apiece, but I have a pair in both cars, in my work bag, and on my kitchen counter.
I got off 600 glasses years ago and go with an online vendor at 1/10 of the cost.
getting my prescription set up was a bit tricky since it’s non standard, but once it’s in, the system is great. I can try them on visually, order different frames, order sunglasses etc.
and when my frames broke, I just ordered new frames with no prescription lenses and popped the old lenses into them.

Dog poop bags with poor perforations.
I’m not fond of trackpads, so I use a mouse with my laptop. I normally just place the mouse directly on the laptop on the area to the right of the trackpad and that has worked fine for a pretty long time and I’m very used to doing that. That area was slightly higher than the keyboard, so hitting a key was never an issue. But over time, I"ve worn out the some of the bevel near the keyboard and now if I move the mouse too close to the keyboard, I end up with a bunch of keypresses.
I’ve spent most of the weekend working.
I had to go to the doctor’s office this aft: old guy next to me had his cell volume way up and I had to wait 1 1/4 hours!!! ![]()
last summer, waiting in the ER waiting room w my wife there was a guy on calls with speaker on. super loud explaining in detail why he and his family were all f’d up. then he played his music on speaker. on song 3, a nurse asked him to turn it down/off speaker and he replied, “you know, I’m a DJ, so…”
I still reference one of the songs he played with my wife. a song I had never heard of before but can’t imagine being without now!
They were in my freezer. I have no clue how they ended up there.
