I would imagine your typical top performer is getting what, 20% more pay if they are lucky compared to the average performer, yet are probably 2-3x as productive?
It’s maddening. And the managers/leaders that make more than you that seem either oblivious to this or simply don’t care.
I have no issues with using AI to help create a shell of a presentation or to give suggestions on making communications more concise, but I really find it annoying when someone suggests to me that I should use AI to create an entire written deliverable. I take a lot of pride in all my various communication styles!
A few days ago, I realized the music I had autoplaying on Spotify was sounding really samey and generic all of a sudden. I wondered what uninspired imitation band I was listening to and realized - this artist is 100% without a doubt AI. Looking it up I realized that Spotify produces AI music of all genres to slip into playlists, so they can keep playing music without paying royalties. They label some AI music but a lot of it they don’t.
I’m pretty sure I just hit another AI artist. I picked up on it when I thought, “Wow this song is incredibly cookie-cutter and uninspired.” It’s on a small handful of other digital platforms but I couldn’t find anything convincing me they’re human, no shows.
“Chilli” is the standard British English spelling, while “chili” is the American English spelling. Since the story is from the UK, “chilli” is spelled correctly.

I did this on 11/9. I got an immediate receipt that my request was received. They were supposed to send me a notification in 5 to 10 business days that it was being processed, and I was supposed to get the card in 10-15 business days.
I didn’t get the card or the notification. Just tried their email form, but it mentions delays due to severe staffing shortages.
I’m thinking I’m not getting this replacement card.
I got a power train failure alert yesterday on my car and now it won’t charge. It’s at the dealership. Likely covered under warranty, but the two issues require two different diagnostics, so if it’s not covered under warranty, I’m out at least $350 just for that alone.
it was -10 or so at 9am. started right up after sitting still through the night of cold. had to go out at 1015am and it started right up. but at 530pm i hit the button and it did everything but start the engine (all accessories came on like normal). tried again. tried a third time. nope.
went back inside office and looked up, found a video of exactly the same thing in the same car and the advice was (1) keep trying and/or (2) hit the gas pedal while starting.
walked back out to the lot and it started right up on the first (fourth) try.
it has started right up each time since (645pm, 945pm, and 9am today) despite very similar temps throughout.
My team is hiring for a very niche type of role and I had a person in mind who would have been a great fit, plus internal, but they aren’t interested. Bummer!
