The dryer broke (no heat) this past week. In the process of taking it apart to fix, another part broke, which needs to be special ordered. The appliance parts store is closed on weekends, so I have no idea of how long it’ll take. In the meantime, I’m washing all the dirty clothes to haul to the laundromat in hopes of drying it all at the same time. I’m on the fourth load, with one more to go.

The laundromat I’d intended to go to closed at 5pm. Since that laundromat and the gym are only a couple of miles apart, I’d planned on going to the gym while the clothes dried. Now I’m at a further away laundromat in the opposite direction of the gym, and the gym will close before the laundry is done. Now it looks like I’ll have to suck it up and start my couch to 5k training in the dark and cold after the clothes are dried. I’m very annoyed with all of this.

I’m also annoyed that the bloodwork drawn for my physical wasn’t covered as preventative, and I had it done on 12/24, which was the first charge to go towards my deductible. I also got a tetanus shot while I was there. The shot was covered 100%, but I was charged an office visit copay for it, even though I was already there for my annual. I’d have gotten it at the pharmacy if I’d known.

The annoyance continues:

Despite over an hour in the dryers, not all of the clothes were dry before the laundromat closed. I ended up snapping at everyone when I got back home and struggled to drag in the bags of clothes, with the bags ripping and clothes spilling out. We finally got all the damp clothes hanging up all over the house, and I realized that I’m missing one of the socks that I like.

I didn’t bring my laptop to the laundromat with me, so I still have work to clear from my inbox.

I didn’t want to run in the cold and dark, so I thought I’d take the dog on a walk instead. However, I didn’t bring a headlamp (only put on reflectors), and when I was only a couple of blocks away, I tripped and fell when walking down a poorly illuminated hill, split open both knees, and got road rash down half my lower leg.

I give up.

i thought it would be a good idea to do a set of walking lunges (with 0lbs added to body weight!) at the gym today.

my hamstrings were not ready for the aftermath of that effort.

I recently was on vacation at a place where to order food, you had to first download their app, and then to pay for your food on the mandatory app, you needed to complete a captcha. Why do captchas still exist?

Ozempic butt.

Now that I know I have it, it’s the only thing I see in the mirror.

My husband: “Your boobs have also gotten a lot smaller too, though!”

Gee…that helps!

Are there exercises that will help?

Probably, but I used to have a butt that I liked without having to work for it! Wah wah.

I hate the national companies that try to look like local companies. I called some place to fix my garage door opener (probably just replace it, whatever), they have a local address. Now I live on Massachusetts St, but literally everyone just calls it Mass. It’s the main drag, so there is nobody in this town who’s been here longer than two days who doesn’t know this.

So I call a place, an 800 number but a local address according to my phone. And they ask for my address, and I say Mass st, and I hear typing… and then she says ‘I’m not seeing a Mass St in your city.’ So I ask where she lives, and she’s in Arizona, it’s not a local company.

So I found a company that is actually local, where the guy who will fix it picks up the phone. He knows Mass St. He’ll come take a look Thursday and come back Friday with parts to replace it.

This is like winning the jackpot.

Yeah, my town isn’t that big, there are a lot of good local folks, just getting harder to find them I guess. It’s a garage door opener, I don’t need a company with a Marketing Dept, thanks.

Oldest son has flu A. He’s been at his mom’s for the last five days and she’s offered to keep him until he’s either better or she’s too sick to take care of him, so it might not hit the whole house. We’re all vaccinated, but of course it’s still a big gamble.

Pseudobusker is at it again, but this time with a violin and piano combo, presumably “playing” the violin. It’s so loud I can hear it clearly indoors despite my windows and doors being closed.
