Ooohh… Actually, Teri and I have some allergies, so we have to eat it without the granola or oatmeal. We call it RP!
I sure could go for some RP right now.

isn’t “gorp” the acronym for “Good Old Raisins & Peanuts”? If you’re adding m&ms, then you no longer have gorp. Why would you call it that?
Better, I would call it better
The war of the fruit flies continues.
when you do the same thing over and over, expecting different results, you know what that’s called, right?
When the weather is good, I like to ride my bike about 3.5 miles to a coffee shop that I like, and do some work while having breakfast there. This led to 2 annoyed thoughts today:
a) My watch counts the ride towards my calorie and exercise goals for the day, but I just noticed it doesn’t count it at all towards daily step / distance walked totals. That is completely correct, but makes it look like I’ve been super lazy today.
b) Today when I wanted to return home, the ding-bat who locked up their bike next to mine put their handlebar between my rear brake cable and the frame of the bike, popping the cable out its bracket on the cross-bar. So I had no rear brakes. Not a hard thing to fix, but seriously, how do you do that and not notice?
I had to wait 10 minutes for my latte at sbux. #firstworldproblems
So are you advocating live and let live?
J2 made me an iced mocha earlier today. She makes good coffee drinks.
(oof, who forgot to hold the shift key down when porting the tup emoji from the AO?)
Quite familiar with the area. Lotta folks would call that southern Ontario lol.
I used to ATV in that area a lot. These days my treks up north are a lot further north.
If anyone wants to get a sense of the vastness of Ontario, Google maps Huntsville Ontario, which is where the pollymaths camp is. That’s roughly where the population starts to go to zero.
Then google shining tree Ontario where I’m going hunting this weekend. There’s no cell for an hour where we are going, no population, no amenities.
Then zoom out on Ontario and see just how far south even shining tree is.
You know you’re in the boonies when the nearest Tim Hortons is 20 kms away!!!
Oh crap. Thanks for the reminder. I need to pack my camp coffee.pot.
400 babies?
Well GORP definitionally does NOT include M&Ms.
Good Ole Raisins & Peanuts
Yes!
Eh, I’m skeptical of the backronym claim. My mother recalls having GORP with her Brownie / Girl Scout troop in the 1950s (no M&Ms).
That said, I certainly prefer Trail Mix with M&Ms than without.
I sure could go for some RP right now.
Sigh, nobody N’d that R.
I first had Gorp in the late 60s, and I’m certain it’s a backronym. I don’t think I’ve ever had gorp that was just raisons and peanuts, either. The reference to a verb, “gorp”, in 1913 seems to clinch it.
But a 1913 reference in the Oxford English Dictionary defines the word “gorp” as a verb meaning “to eat greedily,”
The Jehovah’s Witnesses were out in my neighbourhood this morning. Haven’t seen them in months.
