I bought the set of Tesla charging adapters for the road. Cool. But then I get a pic of what’s installed at my in laws’ house, didn’t get that one. Found one online, $70. Oof. I’m out $320 so far for charging paraphernalia. So far.
Yes. In this case an electric mattress pad. One of the best life decisions/purchases I’ve ever made. Turn that thing on full blast when I get home from work (it doesn’t need that long; it’s just a convenient time to remember to do it), and turn it off the moment before crawling into bed for the night. The warmth melts me into a peaceful slumber.
I had a few of those, but they all broke. Now I use an electric blanket under another blanket, same effect, I lie on top of it. I often will leave it on while I sleep, on low, but I really like to be warm when I’m sleeping. It’s very nice.
Similar… every electric blanket or mattress pad I’ve ever bought seems to fail 366 days after I purchase it and they come with a one-year warranty. I gave up.
I did like having it though and hopping into a toasty bed.
@1695814 if you’ve happened upon a good brand, I’d be curious what it is / where you bought it. I assume it’s not Sunbeam.
In my house the cats function as bed heaters
I can’t remember all of the details anymore, so the untrue parts of the following are not intentional…
I think the first one we bought was a WestPoint Home/WestPoint Stevens. That one lasted ~10 years ± 10 years.
The one we have now is, in fact, a WestPoint Home/WestPoint Stevens. I don’t recall when we bought that, but I bought one for each of my daughters back in 2010, so it was probably around then.
I did have trouble with one of the controls (probably the first one bought around 2000). I’m pretty sure that it was out of warranty, but when I called up customer service they sent me one for free.
My number one problem sleeping is being too warm. I’m the winter we use a wonderful fluffy down quilt that keeps the bed really snug
I bought an electric heating pad years ago, though, for muscle aches. I wonder what happened to it.
I had my surgery post-op today, husband had to drive me, and since my son was off school today, he had to come with. They went to the pet store next door while I was at the appointment, for a total of thirty minutes, and managed to buy two new pets during that time. Guinea pigs. We now have 7 pets, and sadly that isn’t the highest number we have ever had.

Family must have read your happy thoughts post and seized the opportunity.
Now Mr. NA is gonna get good grades, keep his room neat and tidy, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNND take care of the critters, RIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGGGGHHHHTTT???
I was going to write guineas have a short expected lifetime (compared to turtles say), but I see the pet tally has already decreased. Sorry for your loss.
But guinea pigs breed enthusiastically, and are good parents, and have a high infant survival rate.
My town doesn’t collect trash. We can bring it ourselves to the dump, or hire a 3rd party trash hauler. The trash company we used was bought out by a larger one, which bought all the other competition, and is now a monopoly. They just doubled their weekly fees. We may be hauling our own trash to the dump in the future. Not something I want to do. ![]()

Funnier had you left it.
but confusing.
I smell opportunity! …or maybe it’s just that pile of trash that’s been sitting there for too long.
Get a couple neighbours together, everyone take a turn weekly. Its common practice rurally i think. And, burn barrels but thats probably not an option.
