The famous western value of killing people not like us…
…it a long tradition. Too bd they don’t teach it it schools or it might hurt so pms fee fees of some snowflakes.
Trump is now beginning to float running for a 3rd term.
I suspect he has people now seriously looking at this in the background.
always
While a bit earlier than this 4 day period, let’s not forget the Indonesian president captured on a hot mike asking about a meeting with Eric Trump.
That’s not new
This also fits in the “Milestones” thread.
The premise of the suggestion is that Trump has already acquired the power to decide who runs major private news organizations in the US.
Oh look, casual corruption. And apparently, Kash Patel prefers the age / 2 + 3 rule to age / 2 + 7 rule.
Back when Bush 43 was President, the EPA paused 20 something year old regulations that would have required coal fired power plants to pollute less. Shortly afterwards, multiple studies showed that living downwind of coal fired power plants, which disproportionally affected minorities, had a comparable effect on life expectancy to smoking a pack a day. And now, another Republican President, and another similar story.
The dismantling of American excellence continues.
No problem if the universities eliminate all STEM fields.
Highly educated STEM workers: In fields like computer and mathematical sciences and engineering, the percentage of foreign-born individuals with doctorates is even higher, with a report from 2024 noting it is around 58% and 56% respectively
So much for:
"Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me“
We’re still ok with refugees, as long as they are white.
My semi-problem with that story is that it doesn’t try very hard to answer two questions:
- Is his personal travel significantly increased from when he was a private citizen?
- Has he been complying with the requirement that he pay the government what he would have paid to fly commercial had he been a private citizen?
If the answer to those questions are “no” and “yes”, respectively…it might look bad, but it is quite kosher.
Regardless, violating “half plus seven” is creepy.
It’s funny how when new management is brought in to appease the administration, the first thing that they do is get rid of a ton of women and minorities. See also Hegeth’s purges at the Pentagon.
CBS stalwart Gayle King, who has fronted the broadcaster’s morning show for over a decade, is expected to step down from her anchor role on next year, according to a new report.
King, host of “CBS Mornings,” may switch to a different role in the news section, though this has not been confirmed, sources told Variety.
It comes following a major overhaul under CBS News’ new editor-in-chief, Bari Weiss, which has seen sweeping cuts, the loss of two streaming shows and roughly 100 layoffs, amid other changes.
Among those to be let go were eight on-air correspondents and hosts, all of whom were women, and half of whom were people of color.
The Patel flight still may well have been ok, but if you are firing people over the fact that they are public, it makes one wonder.
The FBI has reportedly fired an official who had been at the bureau for 27 years, after stories of Kash Patel using an FBI jet to go on a date broke on Wednesday.
Steven Palmer, who joined the bureau in 1998, was deputy assistant director of the FBI’s Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) and charged with overseeing its aviation units. His exit was made official on Friday, making him the third CIRG boss to be fired during Patel’s brief tenure, Bloomberg reported.
According to three people familiar with the situation who spoke to Bloomberg*,* Patel was outraged by articles and social media posts that highlighted his private jet use. The articles and posts proliferated after a self-styled FBI whistleblower drew attention to his flight logs.
Where’s the revolution?
