You think we are talking about median people here? I understand and disagree with you even more now.
Hey, you asked what percent of individuals in the US. Not what percent of poor individuals ![]()
I assume poverty is correlated by family, but, on the other hand, it seems hard to believe that most people unwilling to move literally canāt afford to move and have no way to borrow. Iāve read numerous books by people who moved around on a shoestring.
Well you didnāt answer median, you cherry picked older median. Whereās my check?
Most of that net worth is their house right?
6 k from their savings.
Yes, I need 6k from you and all of your relatives
a
Lol same. Everyone has lots of relatives to get thousands .
a
This exactly. Median savings is extremely low. Most of median net worth is in home equity. Everyone would gladly clear out their savings or get a HELOC for their 2nd cousin though. This dude on the forum is willing to offer his house up.
a
a
Google median savings/liquid assets. Whatās the median family have to offer?
"These are the median savings by age, according to the latest Federal Reserve Survey of Consumer Finances:
Under 35: $3,24035-44: $4,71045-54: $5,62055-64: $6,400"
Dude, iām an upper class guy. I recognize that my world is not the same as everyone else. Could I get 6k from someone no questions asked? Yes. Would I do the same given the right circumstances? Yes. That is by far not the norm for most people in the US. Look at what the President posted about median savings. Most people could not do that even if they wanted to.
Yeah, to give someone 6k requires having a liquid 6k, not a 401k or a house.
a
Iām definitely not loaning out 10% of my 401k to anyone.
Only one in a million people canāt get 6k cash at the drop of a hat? Lol. You are clueless to what is happening.
a
If the over/ under on the total number of americans that canāt find someone to loan them 6k is 350, Iām taking the over.
