Hey, you asked what percent of individuals in the US. Not what percent of poor individuals 
I assume poverty is correlated by family, but, on the other hand, it seems hard to believe that most people unwilling to move literally canāt afford to move and have no way to borrow. Iāve read numerous books by people who moved around on a shoestring.

This exactly. Median savings is extremely low. Most of median net worth is in home equity. Everyone would gladly clear out their savings or get a HELOC for their 2nd cousin though. This dude on the forum is willing to offer his house up.

Dude, iām an upper class guy. I recognize that my world is not the same as everyone else. Could I get 6k from someone no questions asked? Yes. Would I do the same given the right circumstances? Yes. That is by far not the norm for most people in the US. Look at what the President posted about median savings. Most people could not do that even if they wanted to.

Yeah, to give someone 6k requires having a liquid 6k, not a 401k or a house.
