I have no problem with the USA asking Europe (and Canada) to take much greater responsibility for its defence then it has had to. Russia’s GDP is less than Canada’s so surely Europe can find the funding to have an effective front against further Russian expansion.
The galling part for me is how the USA is putting Europe at risk through its apparent support for Russia in the Russia-Ukraine peace negotiations.

Is this credible? If yes, why was this not hammered by the Harris campaign?
I would posit that it has multiple sources now (how credible will depend on access to Russian sources that may/may mot have their own agendas)
After the Mueller report, which Barr effectively deep-sixed, any claim about Trump having been influenced by Russia was effectively downplayed.
The Russians are very good at this. They did this to the UK as well. They just happened to hit paydirt with Trump and got lucky with timing.
It would just get denied and forgotten just like every other piece of credible info on Trump. His cult doesn’t care about this stuff. Remember the Steele dossier? Most of the things in there were credible too, and it got no traction because people just don’t want to believe they fell for such an obvious conman.

Russians have effectively been runing an influencing operation on Trump for decades.
Think about it. If you had the resources of an entire nation state available.
Trump is a grandiose narcissist that is corrosively insecure.
The Russians profiled him and slowly start to flatter him over a few decades.
They have been doing this with many people from western countries. They are very good at it. And all it takes is a few successes.
When this happens, a person like Trump (who went from feeling like a failure to King of the world) would feel that he owed them internally.
Thats what is very likely driving all of this abnormal behavior.

Ok… I was responding to Poly’s post about the article from Jan. 29, 2021 when I asked why the Harris campaign didn’t hammer Trump with it if it was credible.
