Thousands of residents across Northwest Indiana have been living in darkness for over a week after severe storms ripped through the area last week. On August 11th, stormy conditions brought 99-mph winds to the area, knocking down trees, power lines, and stoplights. As a result, over 300,000 NIPSCO customers have been left without power.
Yeah, a few more people than normal have been showing up in the office this past week because of that. And some of those who have power still don’t have internet.
Morons are running this county. Morons.
I’m seeing the news about the US military’s struggles with Iran and Ukraine’s problems with a lack of patriot missiles. Also seeing how US allies are running out of patriot missiles. Then i see your story now.
I’m left unsure as to whether its feasible to fight a war against a strong opponent or perhaps a resilient opponent using the US’s military and it leaves me wondering if Canada is better off with the Saab fighters as opposed to F-35s. Its crazy expensive to operate and maintain US weapons systems which are developed in a world with near infinite money. The jets are costly and complicated to maintain. Replacements take a long time to obtain. Unless you win in the first month(?), it seems like a struggle to maintain operation levels.
Meanwhile, Ukraine is innovating and using everyone’s cast offs and has been holding off Russia for several years now.
Are you implying the altruistic American Military Industrial Complex are more concerned with their profit margins and quarterly statements than the effectiveness of their products and the lives of Americans? Perish the thought.
I used to go to school with a couple of Morans.
Many are unaware. Others are aware and don’t care. Some care but feel helpless. And a good number are cheering it on.
Sad when common decency is considered remarkable.

It was my annoyance when i was living in the US. Every time i interacted with US customs and immigration they treated me like a criminal. Haven’t had that treatment in other countries.
Pre-Trump, it depended a bit on how you entered the US (location and visa type).
Now it sounds like its bad everywhere.
All I ask of any country’s immigration official is that they act professionally. That is not a high bar, in most countries.
