A Reminder of where America is heading

I did a tolerable paint job on my garage this morning. Maybe I should don a MAGA hat and offer my services?

Nothing succeeds like excess.

I’m sure someone in Texas read this and the race is on.

''Counting the recent two-year run, Illinois has enjoyed back-to-back winning seasons just twice since 1990."

That’s what happens after your advertising slogan was “The 80s belong to the Illini”.

Ostentatious behaviour is back in vogue: like the 80s.

When will the revolution start?

Well, this surprises absolutely nobody.

Gambling addicts…

Losses are not spread evenly across the betting population. Roughly 95% of total losses are absorbed by just 5% of bettors, a small cohort of heavy users whose spending looks nothing like the casual fan putting $20 on a Sunday parlay. “That is a problem,” Matheson said.

:slot_machine: :game_die: :four: :lollipop: :lollipop:

Their losses seems to suggest that they are extremely bad at this. Not only that, but it suggests that most, like 80% or so, bettors break even (say losing or winning 10% of their total outlay in the long run). (Disclaimer: Wild-ass guess.)

Well, no real surprise that you have a slice of hardcore online gambling degenerates that end up losing big in the long run.

Huh.

Why the label? Gambling is a business that provides its customers with an expected loss for using its product and as a result is basically just preying on people financially.

No need to call addicted people names. That is also an expected outcome that we as society have accepted for calling this a legit business.

You remind me of the first time I went to Vegas.

We went into the Casino and there was this huge row of FBTs with people in front of them. They each had a huge bucket with coins playing the slots mindlessly.

We went by at 9am for the brunch and then returmed at 10pm after a show. Most of the same people were still there.

Its an addiction. Pure and simple. Its no different with Polymarket.
