Is more than 80% of it’s volume (during normal use) made up of air?
My Google searches on volume were not fruitful so I’m answering based on what I would think.

I originally had 90% because when I did a quick estimate on a basketball it looked like about 95%. Then I thought about a football, searched a bit, and came up with around 85%, so I changed my question… I hope that’s kosher enough.
So, some kind of sports ball. But not a baseball or a gold ball.
Probably not a golf ball either
If not baseball, I’d lean towards football with the sometimes made of something that was once alive question.
I’m not sure if rubber would be considered as once alive.
So summer(ish) sports ball filled with air:
Basketball
Football
Volleyball
Kickball
Soccer ball
Rugby ball
What else am I missing?
I would consider rubber certainly made from something once alive… same as wood.
If I was the answerer I would probably say “yes” to made of something once alive.
You have to process it to make rubber, whereas wood is wood. Cut and shape.
Actually, rubber is a good “sometimes” because there’s both natural and artificial rubber these days.
There’s also synthetic leather though, so kind of even-Steven there.
Baseballs and footballs sometimes are (part) leather, but other balls are natural or synthetic rubber. Given the processing requirement, I wondered about rubber. Leather needs to be prepared, but Not sure how much intervention puts it over the line.
Is it a Football? The American kind.
YES!
And I don’t think I would have ever considered rubber as something that was once alive, but leather definitely
I wouldn’t have complained if you had counted that either way.
Rubber used to be 100% from trees but I don’t think “real” rubber is all that common anymore since synthetic rubber was introduced in WW2 it’s grown to near 100% market share in rubber.
