Note about the “Flooding” question: the source I worked primarily from is the Prose Edda, which doesn’t mention anything about “flooding” . . . but only that the “earth would rise again from the sea”. However, the wiki’s includes the phrasing of “flooding of the world” . . . hence the need I felt to make a clarification.
Hopefully, the other answers (especially “soft ones” and ones with clarifications) make sense.
