And I’ve never had one or been near one that smelled and would’ve said “no” to that question had I been the answerer.
I really think it’s a plunger or a toilet brush.
Those also smell like plastic when new and… well… you know.
But plunger seems more likely in that I think a lot of brushes would probably fit in the microwave (although I’m certainly not going to test that theory at home
)
Should we guess plunger?
Go for it. It was your idea, so you do the honors.
I can practice my losing skills for RPS.

Yeah - I probably screwed up a couple of those.
I stand by the smell answer - some people may keep them meticulously clean, but I’d be willing to bet that if I went into 10 random houses and sniffed their plunger there would be an odor - and it wouldn’t be plesant. Plus - new ones will have the rubber smell.
For the mall one - I haven’t been in a department store in a while, but it seems that when I was a kid you might have been able to find one in a Sears or something. And, if you count strip malls, then your chances of being able to find one goes up a bit. Probably should have just said “No” though.
If the question had been “is it smaller than a microwave” I would have said “Yes”. I haven’t seen a microwave big enough to fit one though.
I think I really screwed up the water question. In my mind it didn’t “use” water, it was “used in” water. You can perform it’s basic function without water, but it won’t be all that helpful. Ultimately, I made a mistake there though. Sorry.
For the weight - I actually weighed mine (newer plastic model). It was about 1.5 pounds. I thought about hedging with an “older models might be”, but I wasn’t sure.
Anyway - that was fun.
I think you answered the questions perfectly, FWIW. Good game.
The hint about the water helped.
I would’ve answered no too. It definitely doesn’t use water.
If anything, it uses vacuum.
Yeah, I think the answers were all good. I happen to have a plunger that’s old enough not to smell of rubber, and hasn’t been used for several years. But i think it’s completely reasonable to assume that the typical plunger has an unpleasant odor.
I appreciated the hint about water.
But these questions are hard to answer. I think those were good answers, and it was a good object to cue, too.
I’m trying to think of something with straightforward answers that’s not too easy. Hmmm…
