I thought maybe Stroud would have a decent week, not relatively speaking shit the bed. Then I watched Lamar do nothing relatively speaking, and Henry doing stuff but not a ton, and thought _damn, I might survive Stroud and snag the week._ And then Lamar had to throw that goddamn TD near the end. ---

Meanwhile, let’s address the question of whether we’ll make it to Week 18 for this game. The answer is… possibly? probably? I hope we do, at any rate, but it’s not all in my control. Right now, by my count we have 16 active players, with 15 weeks of the NFL season left. That means if we can manage to only lose one player a week, we’ll have a head-to-head matchup for Week 18. But there’s no guarantee that we’ll get there - we may lose another player along the way or we may have a tie for the bottom score. If either of those happen, we’ll end up finishing the game sooner. In general, this game is set up to finish when we are down to 1 player, just like any other Survivor pool. If I recall correctly, in the earliest iteration of this game we did not have enough players to get through the season, so we crowned a champion before the NFL season was done, so there’s a distinct chance we will get to repeat history. Therefore (for those of you who preliminarily plot out all your triplets) you will also need to factor in how fast our player pool is shrinking - if it’s fast enough, those triplets you’ve reserved for Week 18 may not come into play after all! I vaguely recall late in one season, there was a decision to not boot anyone one week because we were running low on players. Everyone was playing for the booster, but knew there wasn’t the pressure of finishing last and getting tossed. [I was long gone at that point, but playing the role of interested observer.] If that’s true, then it’s not unprecedented but also doesn’t mean that has to happen again. 📣 Let’s not have to worry about this and make sure you show up and get your picks in, people! 📣 ---
