In too soon news, the White Sox magic number is 36 and they hold the edge in all the division tie breakers, although they donāt have any of the relevant ones (non-KC, that is) locked up yet.

Either I wasnāt paying attention or Toronto has made a big move. I could have sworn they looked out of it about two weeks ago.

Jays were 5.5 games out of the final WC spot as recently as July 24 with six teams ahead of them. They havenāt played that great since but better than all the teams they were chasing. They have had, and still have, extensive injuries so I donāt see them getting past the first round if they make the playoffs.

Note: It was not so loud near Heaven where I sat, one row from the top a few weeks ago. In the fancier seats, it is a lot louder, closer to the many speakers.
But it certainly keeps me from buying tickets.
Most fun is naming that tune from the organist (Dieter Ruehle, who is also the LA Kings organist and has played the last few winter Olympics), and then figuring out why heās playing it at that time.

Whole thing seems like a toss up. I think someone is going to go on a 5-1 streak in mid-September because their opponents played like trash and thatās what will be the deciding factor.
And that team will win in the first round.
There will also be a lot of head to head games amongst teams in the central that will separate things a little.

basepath mainly only is referenced if a play is being made on the runner and they deviate too far from the straightline to the base.
Players going past a base are presumed to have touched it until appealed properly.
R3 heading straight to the dugout would get noticed for āabandonmentā and called out. never continued towards home and across. One of plate umpireās main roles is to ensure someone touches the plate when they cross that area. runner going 3rd to dugout fails that and would not be presumed to have scored. That said, you could ask how close a runner could get without touching and abandoning and getting credit. like a guy slides and finishes one foot short, pops up and heads to 3b dugout, no one appealsā¦Iām not sure. I might call abandonment.
