2025 FIFA Club World Cup

‘Good’ teams becoming ‘mediocre’ seems to be a ‘problem’ all over the world except in Europe, Middle East, and North Africa.

Not a sellout yet, but looks like tickets are moving well. Many of the ones left that aren’t resale are in the sections with high prices. Could still sell out. Get in price is not bad at $84/seat before taxes to sit up in the rafters, but I’m not going tomorrow.

I might consider Tuesday for Dortmund vs Monterrey. No chance that one sells out, as tons of seats are available. Get in the door price is $65 per seat before taxes, all resales. There are even lower bowl seats available at $73.

I also looked at the quarterfinal again. Still very expensive with loads of seats available. I’ll wait.

Well that match went as expected!

Severe summer weather causing complaints. Not sure if the same people were complaining about the blood money cup three years ago.

Fluminense takes another bite out of the Euro armor.

Thats a Rio team.

Games at their stadium are pretty wild. Thiago Silva plays for them now.

Twice the announcers called City “Real Madrid.”

And now I know why they made that mistake.

A sentence I had not expect to see:

Al Hilal will remain in Orlando to face Fluminense FC in the Club World Cup quarter-finals

Now we’re finally getting somewhere…

China’s humanoid robots generate more soccer excitement than their human counterparts

Relative to China’s National team? Sure.

Nah, it clearly says “human” counterparts

Looks as though the semi’s and finals will be on DAZN only.
So, I guess I won’t watch.

I won’t buy it, but will look for local spots airing both.

Only interested in PSG-Bayern in this round. Won’t be watching though as not on cable tv here either.

Tickets are at a slight discount from the $450+ price for the quarterfinals (games played on a weekday in the middle of the day probably doesn’t help):

They botched the pricing on this tourney badly.

Will FIFA learn something from it and do a better job for WC26? Doubtful.

Given the larger field for WC, I think there will be some games with much lower relative interest in the group stage. Price these competitively. Knockouts and later stages will have extremely high demand and they can do a lot of price gouging then.

Club World Cup headed for Qatar in 2029?

Basically a response to the weather in the US.

I was hoping it would go to Spain so I could potentially catch a game with the family.

They usually hold this in the following Year’s World Cup country/countries.
But $$$$ will get you anywhere, even a during-season tournament. “We’ve done it before.” – one of those old guys in “Trading Places.”

Huh, Flu-CHE was on TNT today.
All-Euro Final, as projected.

My money will be on the Continental European team.
