Looks like 2 RP wins and a couple guys that got hammered.
I still can’t believe I do not have a losing record in any batting category. I look at my team each morning and think how did I end up with some of these guys. I would not feel good about these guys in a 20 team league.
I also looked at my weekly. I am 7-5 in match-ups losing to 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 8th, so not beating any of the better teams which is not good. I am 34-4-2 against bottom 4 teams, my entire over .500 (and ahead 10-0 this week against one of them).
I am hopeful that yankeetripper gets into the playoffs (15-3-1) and wins first round since he is 21-8-1 against 2nd-4th going 2-0-1 (I am 0-3, 8-22-0).
This season is weird.
Yeah if I miss the playoffs my 3-15-2 showing against you is likely to blame.
Yep, you’re up 8-2 on me (MichJFrog) at the moment. I don’t know how your team BA is close to .400 after Thursday, but hat’s off!
Should work just the same as we have always done. You can trade draft picks straight up, it’ll get processed in the Draft Room for us. I can manually override it if I have to, but it’s worked for other leagues in the past with no issues.
Remember keepers will be 3 rounds higher than they were picked this year. Forgot about a waiver pick up keeper so we’ll put them in rounds 11 & then for each additional one, one round later. So 11, 12, 13… Feel like that’s a fair place for them, gives those who picked later round sleepers a benefit for making a great pick over those of us who lucked into someone on waivers because their actual picks sucked! Can’t keep anyone who was picked in the first 3 rounds, and then if you wanted to keep your 4th round pick from this year you’d need to use your 1st rounder next year, 5th goes to 2nd, and down the line.
No limits on transactions or number of picks traded other than we can Veto your ass.
Zach Thompson: breakout, or just luck in a small sample size? At first I thought just luck looking at his MiLB stats, but I reconsidered after reading this article: Is Zach Thompson the Marlins’ Latest Pitching Success? | FanGraphs Baseball
Just picked him up
I grabbed him in another league based on your article lol
Trading season should be heating up soon… about to send some offers. Draft picks about to be flying out the window.
Trade offers sent to anyone 10+ games out…
Do we have a quick list of everyone here matched with Team Name? A few are easy, but not all.
Kid Rock - Sox Appeal
Yankee Tripper - Yankee Tripper
In case that wasn’t clear.
Anyway league says our trade deadline is 8/19 which I think is later than usual for us but maybe that was intentional due to league change this year.
I’m kind of in limbo now, too good to punt for next year, not good enough to make a run at this year.
I think that was the standard on website… feels later… anyone want me to move it up to the 12th? I might have pushed it back to encourage trades. And I’m Double Oh Tani.
MichiganJFrog here. How do these draft picks work? Going into next season, how many players can be kept? Let’s say there are 20 players that make up a roster, and we have team A trading a player to team B for a draft pick. Can both teams keep up to N players?
Let’s say N=3. In next year’s draft, Team A will have 16 draft picks (20 - 3 keepers - 1 traded away) and Team B will have 18 draft picks (20 - 3 keepers + 1 aquired pick). Is this correct? Also, in this case, wouldn’t Team B need to drop a player at the conclusion of the draft? Maybe something is wrong with my scenario?
Asking for a friend. Just kidding
Hope this helps Smalls. In the past we’ve had no limit on keepers but we had vastly different keeper rules.
As for traded picks, every pick you trade for you have to trade one of your picks away.
For example in the trade today some traded random player and their 15th round pick for random player and someone else’s 12th round pick.
Got it, thanks YankeeT.
So each team has the same max size roster coming out of the draft, but may have a smaller max if you trade away more picks than you gain.
Ah, I suppose I should’ve noticed this sooner.
I wonder what this is referring to. Oh, I see now:
… so that tells me there’s not really a reason to waste an IR spot on a first-round pick that’s out for the rest of the year, eh?
(I guess I need to pay a little more attention to the details… )
All draft pick trades need to include the same number of draft picks on both sides (Yahoo! rule, but helps for our purposes too). So no matter what your roster size is the same.
In prior versions of this league, that wasn’t a rule, and it was a pain in the ass to implement.
Yea, no reason to hold onto Acuna. Also makes the players in those first 3 rounds much more tradeable. In the old league you could hold onto them, here they all go back into the draft next year. So you can keep more guys, the punishment for keeping isn’t as harsh… but the top 36 all go back into the pool and then the 4th/5th rounders would have had to jump to a 1st/2nd round value to be kept. Way easier to implement, but changes the value around a little bit.

Awesome 95ks this week. 2nd in the league right now. Not so awesome I’m playing the guy with 104. It’s been that kind of season.
I was in the drivers seat in my league this week. Had a nice lead, and basically just needed a mediocre start from Sonny Gray to lock it down. Of course he got rocked and I narrowly lost my matchup. Sigh.
