I guess that ND being shunned thing is real. ND and BYU just announced a home and home series for 26 (in Provo) and 27 (in South Bend).
I’m trying to decide if Oregon let up in the 2nd half or if JMU just came on late? The on-field reporter seemed to say that Lanning said they weren’t going to let up. But I also heard they had more of their deeper roster players in in the second half so I don’t know.
I was a little surprised by Miami holding TA&M to only 3 points. Other than that the only thing that surprised me was Bama’s comeback. I kinda expected them to win, until they went down 17-0.
Un-shun: no it’s not.
Re-shun.
You’re right, though. Bowl games are a racket, and teams need to get with the program in order for this charade to be kept up.
Not only are BYU and ND playing, but USC and ND are notably not playing each other in 2026, for now.
It’s January: the only month historically in which I watch US college football. I always support a Cascadia team; if there are any playing. Go Ducks Go!
liking the results so far. prefered TT to beat oregon, but mainly rooting for the non-brand name football schools to advance. Oregon/TT game was a SNOOZE. Miami vs tOSU was fun.
That was a technically correct ending.
IFYP
I guess.
Someone might get fired for allowing the ‘float” onto the field when the game was not over. I’ll check to see if the game is over when the Referee says so, as in real sports. And, that players and floats should not go onto the field until the game is officially over per the Referee.
“AHHH!!! THE FLOAT IS OUT ON THE FIELD!!! HE’S RUNNING FOR HIS LIFE! OUT OF THE END ZONE! SAFETY!!!”
I was following the end of the game on ESPN and they mistakenly had GA taking the lead 37 to 36 with like 6 seconds left. I went to bed thinking they had won.
Was at a bar in IL suburbs yesterday and it was absolutely packed with Indiana fans. I hope IU wins it all for their coach’s expressions alone
the BEST kind of correct!
So, what happened between 2023 season and this one? Announcers were amazed at a stat sheet put up on screen – 100th + at a bunch of stats in 2023, near the top in 2025 – but gave no indication of how.
Guessing a lot of new players who are better than the prior ones. That is the simplest path to being a better team, but it indirectly insults a bunch of past players.
A.I. confirms this. Oh, there is blather about “winning culture” and shit like that. But top players buy in a lot more easily, since they came to win in the first place. Loser players are there for the degree.
Oh, Mark Cuban is putting money in. That pretty much explains it.
60 Minutes did a whole segment, but mostly an interview with the long-time announcer and the coach, neither of which discussed the 13 transfers from JMU, the NIL money from Cuban, etc.
Herer is a more relevant article:
Still doesn’t touch enough on the players.
Incredible game.
I thought Ole Miss was going hit an in-route on that last play for the game-winning TD….would have been epic! And was really hoping to see how Kiffin would react / handle the last of his coaches left on Ole Miss.
Sounds like this Husky got some bad advice:
Signs a contract, then immediately decides to break said contract?
Not sure what he or U-Dub had done to fulfill the contract just yet besides signing it. Do these contract have “out clauses”? If so, does either party read them?
On Thursday, prior to Williams’ announcement that he was returning to Washington, his agent, Doug Hendrickson of Wasserman Football, dropped the quarterback as a client. Soon after, Williams retained lawyer Darren Heitner, who is a veteran of NCAA eligibility cases. Williams and his camp spent the day discussing his options before coming to the conclusion that he should return.
Ah. guessing this guy is the culprit.
EDIT
Further reading: The agent dropped him BECAUSE Williams decided to hit the portal, which was likely AGAINST his advice.
