2024 MLB Baseball Thread

The only consolation I can take from this series is the Yankees now have blown the biggest lead in a deciding WS game. It’s a nice bookend to the 3-0 collapse in 2004…although a distant second. Only bad part is the Dodgers now have biggest comeback in deciding game.

I wonder how much the betting sites or big betters won/lost last night? Was the fix in?

5 unearned runs in one inning? Superstars making unimaginable errors? Black Yankees?

Twas very Cub-like of them

I wasn’t watching. Just saw the WSJ notification pop up in my email.

For all the hype around Ohtani and Judge, it was really the Freeman and Soto show. Judge getting most of the criticism but Ohtani was nowhere to be found.

not sure how much the shoulder held him back

That didn’t help but he was bad before that and was thrown out on both steal attempts before injuring himself on the 2nd one.

If they made shit for salary and worked two jobs in the winter, maybe.

The series mostly came down to defense. The Yankees gave up 6 unearned runs that cost them game 1 and game 5, and failed to make a few other plays that were not ruled errors. The two teams hitting line was virtually identical, neither team hit much with RISP, the Dodger ran the bases much better but the Yankees out stole them by a wide margin and out homered them 9 to 7. The Dodger really only had 3 hitters that carried their offense, Freeman, Teoscar, and Edman.

The dodgers made plays when they had to and got just enough timely hitting and capitalized on Yankee mistakes.

Rodger the Dodger?

I saw this on Facebook:

The Yankees can still win the World Series if the scoreboard operator has the courage to do what’s right.
