The Mets only lost 120. I guess they got rained out a couple times?
In not-so-surprising stats, the WS have more blown saves than wins.
Angels shut down rehab for Mike Trout after recent setback
Under 162 games played for the rest of his career.
Hey, they’re seriously on their way. I hope they shut down Crochet to make it a little easier. I forget the exact stat but the WS are something like 0-68 in games where they’re trailing in the 6th inning
20 in a row.
1 more and they will tie the O’s for longest since 88
3 more and they can tie the modern day record of 23 by the 61 Phillies
6 more and they tie the all time record by the 89 Louisville Colonels, that’s 1889 if they wasn’t clear!
They are 20 1/2 games behind the second to the last team.
If you don’t make the playoffs it doesn’t matter how much you miss them by?
Yes you get a better draft pick, oh wait the White Sox can’t draft better than 10th for some reason under the new CBA, LOL
Yeah, not like some other sports where teams start tanking for tactical reasons. WS are just bad.
MLB went to an NBA style lottery in the last CBA do discourage out right rankings. But they put in something about not getting a top 9 pick if you are really bad a few years in a row and also getting revenue sharing money or something like that. the White Sox cant pick better than 10 and A’s 11 next year. They put in other rules for high spenders that push their pick back 10 spots, that effected the Yankees and a few other teams this year.
If they get swept by the A’s, I may have to get tickets to watch history on Friday
The A’s are the 4th worst team in baseball, 21 games under 500. the Sox are 60 games under 500 and there is nearly 2 full months of baseball left. That’s insane. The Sox have gone full Cleveland Spider mode.
21 ties the O’s for longest in AL. Now the streak can go out and get drunk.
The talk on sports radio today was on how, after the Cubs went all in rather than out at the trading deadline, they’ve not been doing very well and expectations are now very low. And how, if the White Sox kept up their streak today, then swept the Cubs on Fri/Sat, it would be totally demoralizing to the Cubs. Well, the White Sox already screwed that up.
There was also some discussion on how Fangraphs projected the White Sox to end the year with just shy of 47 wins. They’d have to play about .400 to do that.
Lol. They could play their last 46 games against the Rockies and still not end up with 47 wins.
Am disappointed they won yesterday. If we’re going to be this bad, may as well get our money’s worth.
Are they this bad on paper? I don’t remember hearing about how bad the pale hose were before the season started.
28th of 30, according to ESPN on March 25:
Projected record: 61-101 (0.4% playoff odds | 0% World Series odds)
Also:
One (realistic) bold prediction: The White Sox use 25 different starting pitchers – breaking the MLB record of 24 shared by the 1915 A’s and 2023 A’s – and stumble to 107 losses, most in franchise history. Along the way, Robert is traded at the deadline. – Schoenfield
Roberts was not traded, though 107 losses is definitely in play.
They traded their best pitcher for prospects before the season and I think they were projected to win around 60 games. Their players who always get injured (Moncada, Jimenez, Robert) have been injured and a couple others that you would expect to be decent have been terrible. Fedde was one of the 2 good surprises (along with Crochet), but they just traded him for a ham sandwich.
