2020 Rainbows in the Endzone NFL Full Season Pick'em Contest-Tying Arbitrary Records now with GoActuary

That’s true.

That’s just hurtful.

I just haven’t committed. I am guessing given the items above that I would guarantee the weekly win with a change. I entered earlier than CSPAN meaning I would tie but win. If I switch, I get a COFP and would tie since no others are currently shown as getting a COFP if Bears win. However, sticking with Bears and them winning is biggest advantage on field for the game. Losing a game to CSPAN only is not a bad outcome. Vikes are 3-16 at Soldier Field, but I need a good game from Cook. Lot more going on with this game than I thought.

Yes, assuming that nothing else changes, if you switch to the Vikings both you & CSPAN would either go 12-2 or 11-3, so you will win the week. Currently, no one else will match that. The only one with an earlier entrance time stamp than you that is close to your record is General Apathy. He is currently 10-3 and has picked the Vikings. However, the best he can do is 11-3 if the Vikings win, but then CSPAN will go 12-2 (and you will too if you switch).

I’m 92% sure that the preceding paragraph is at least 98% accurate.

Please tell intern to flip my pick for tonight - Bears to Vikes. There will be no salt since the worst I can do with this is guarantee a COFP. Thanks

Congratulations to Kid Rock. You’ve won the Random Poster’s Lucky 7 award:

If you win this award you will have seven points to distribute to improve the scores of your chosen teams. You may spread it among as many teams & weeks as you desire. Only whole-points may be used.

The default will be to apply all seven points to your Washington over Bengals pick. You may reject the default by posting your declaration in this thread, send an email to actuary1695814 [at] gmail, or a PM.

This week…
Vorian Atreides used two COFP awards to change his Dolphins pick to the Chargers and his Rams pick to the Seahawks. :-1: :-1: Sorry, mate.
General Apathy used his CYOA award to RPL7 his Dolphins over Chargers pick. They won anyway, so didn’t need any help. :man_shrugging:
Kid Rock used a COFP award to change his Bears pick to the Vikings :+1: Good on ya’, mate.

I will add 4 to the Seahawks and 3 to the Browns.

Please change Jags to Steelers this week.

Noted…for week 11, I presume.

Yes. Week 11. I thought I had to use following week which is why default is same week. Better to use quickly anyway. Less things for the host and intern to track.

Nope. The default choice is generally declared for the following week because the committee that decides the default choice doesn’t like to put a lot of work into it.

Neither the host nor the intern mind if the award is declared for a week in the near future or far future. We’ve built a handy-dandy-spreadsheet to keep track of these things.

If you’re happy with your choice you have nothing more to do. If you’d like to change your mind, you have up until TNF’s kickoff to do so…keeping in mind that if you do, indeed, change your mind, it’s nearly guaranteed that either the Seahawks will lose by 3 or the Browns will lose by 2…or both :yikes:.

@kid_rock, my intern screwed up the spreadsheet. The awards I have declared for you this week are:

  • Change Jaguars to Steelers
  • Lovable Losers - Guarantee Broncos over Dolphins
  • RPL7 - +4 Seahawks & +3 Browns

For some reason I have the Washington team highlighted for you this week also but have no idea why that could be. Do you recall anything going on there or was it an administrative error?

Please confirm or deny.

Going into SNF, here are this week’s winning scenarios:

Vorian Atreides will be this week’s winner.

3rookie will win a consolation prize if Rams win MNF.

I got nothing.

None of my points were needed nor was guarantee. At least my COFP was good.

Okay…the intern must have written a macro to randomly highlight cells for no good reason.

Ah, yes, here it is …
randomly_highlight_cells_for_no_good_reason()
’ Keyboard Shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+Ö
If Rand()<0.500 Then With Selection.Interior.Color = 16776960 End With
End Sub

What an idiot.

LOL

Back in my programming days I had a program that its totals were not balancing to what it should match. I found code from the prior programmer that was “If policy number = u2970-02379; go to next policy number”

It seems it was crashing the program, so instead of fixing it, he just skipped it

We’ve done that before…when you’ve got a million policies and only one of them causes trouble…well, just ignore the troublemaker.

Speaking of troublemakers, I need to go speak with the intern…

Denver upsetting the Tunafins must’ve put me up on top.

And IIRC, this was one of those COFP I made way back when . . .
