20 Questions Game9

Nail polish is not made of something that was once alive though. It’s made from chemical compounds.

Gel may be a little of a stretch. Homemade gel can be made from gelatin, but the ingredients in store bought gel are chemical compounds.

Unofficial: aloe vera?

That’s true. That would knock out a lot of cosmetics. Maybe my question wasn’t a very good one. :pensive:

Is it worth asking if it’s currently alive? We know it either is or is made from something that once was. Should we narrow that down?

I don’t think so, only because JSM responded that it’s something that is intended to go on the body. The only thing that’s alive that may fit that description (although I don’t think it’s recommended) is a snake. Maybe we can narrow it down to material?

Edit: ehh, i take that back. A bird would go on your shoulder. It’s worth a try if others agree that it’s currently alive.

It was hard to answer that question btw. And I had some hesitation.

Nah, this is a good point. I don’t think a bird or a snake is intended to go on the body. A flower could also go on the body, but again, not really the intention.

Hmmm, purse? Backpack?

Should we ask if it is a container? Phrased in such a way that purses & backpacks would be included.

That could work, something along the lines of if its intended purpose is to hold or store other objects.

Backpacks are usually synthetic. Purse could be prior animal or synthetic.

If the synthetic is petroleum based…

Also - the “…” in the answer to #13 implys to me “well, maybe yes”.

Could it be shoes of some sort? Would they be considered clothing?

I would think that shoes/belts/hats/gloves would all be considered clothing. You get them at clothing stores. He also said he struggled with whether you put it on your body or not. The question would be easy if the noun was shoes.

Maybe a purse? They are often leather.

Unofficial: maybe something like a towel? Although that could be considered grooming.

Yeah, I mean maybe a dish towel isn’t grooming, but that’s not meant to go on your body either.

I suppose a beach towel isn’t really used for grooming and is meant to go on your body.

I still like something in the purse/backpack/tote-bag genre though.

But beach towel is an interesting idea.

The “…” makes me think that it is at least skin-adjacent - but I can’t think what that would be if not clothes, jewelry, or something for grooming.
