I guess a few more people own dumbbells now than two years ago. I was hung up on the idea that it was more trendy / faddish, which isn’t exactly what you said.
I’d guess tons more people. It’s been a real challenge to buy them since around April, when gyms started closing, because the entire industry is nearly out. Basically, people who used to share weights with 100 other people over the course of a month are now buying their own set to use at home. I use them instead of… Maybe three machines i used to use, plus plain weights.
